Pokemon Football Qualifier
Dear Parents and Carers,
We hope this letter finds you well. As part of our commitment to promoting physical activity and encouraging healthy competition, we are excited to invite a selected number of Years 5 and 6 pupils to the event above.
Please meet Chloe Smith and Sam Tarn at the Braunton Astro at 10.30 a.m. Collection: The event is due to finish at 12.30 p.m.
Parents are welcome to watch from the outside of the astro cage. The tournament will be a morning filled with competitive games and an opportunity for the winners of each category to represent North Devon County and maybe the Southwest, as they progress through the rounds.
To ensure the smooth flow of the event, we kindly request that children are aware of the following:
Appropriate Sportswear: Please be aware in order for the child to play in this competition they will need football boots and shinpads - both are compulsory. Please speak with Mrs Smith if either of these items are a problem to obtain as soon as possible. Children will collect their Southmead Football Kit from Miss Brailey at lunchtime on Friday 7 th November outside her classroom. Please make sure hair is tied back and jewellery is removed. As the weather is unpredictable, please make sure your child is prepared and has with them a warm coat, jogging bottoms and jumpers to keep them comfortable when they are on the sidelines. There will be periods of inactivity when children must be dry and warm during this time so they all have a positive experience.
Water Bottle, Snacks and Lunch: Staying hydrated is crucial, so please make sure your child brings a named water bottle, or two, and a few healthy snacks.
Medication: Please make sure that all medication, such as asthma inhalers are with your child on the day.
Positive Attitude: We encourage all pupils to approach the event with a positive and enthusiastic mindset, embracing the spirit of fair play and friendly competition.
Please complete our online form by Wednesday, 5th November. We are immensely proud of our pupils and we are confident in their abilities to represent our school with maturity, integrity and sportsmanship, as well as show respect and appreciation to children from opposing schools.
Thank you for your continued support. Best regards, Chloe Smith - BLCT SSCo and Southmead PE Teacher
