School Day Drop Offs and Pick ups

We are open term time only*, Monday through to Friday: 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., 9 a.m. until 12 noon or 12 noon until 3 p.m. Please provide a packed lunch for your child if they attend for the afternoon or an all-day session.

*Our Term Dates can be found here.

At morning drop-off a staff member will meet you just before 9 a.m. outside of the lower gate nearest to Braunton Academy car park. Please wait there. When the gate is opened walk across the playground to the fenced ramp outside of our Pre-School. It is there that you will hand your children over into our care and they will walk independently up the ramp and into Pre-School.

If you are dropping off or collecting your child at 12 o’clock please wait outside the lower playground gate which is nearest to Braunton Academy car park. Our staff will meet you there and either return or collect your child from you.

Snack and Lunch Times

During snack time your child will be offered a choice of fruit or vegetables. Milk or water is offered at snack time. We encourage children to pour their own drinks, cut up their own fruit and clear away their plates and beakers. They are encouraged to put their food waste into a bowl for our compost bin. Staff supervise snack time to extend on further learning experiences.

If your child has any dietary needs, please speak to a staff member and keep us informed of any food or drink allergies.

Please provide your child with a named water bottle when they attend although fresh water is available at all times. Water will be used to re-fill your child’s bottle when empty.

Please provide a named lunchbox and water bottle if your child is staying for lunch. We encourage them to be as independent as possible and our Staff will support them if they need help in being shown how to open packets or containers. We encourage a healthy lifestyle and to help your child make healthy choices therefore we ask that you do not send in fizzy drinks or sweets.

We have found that one slice of bread cut into two sandwiches is a large enough portion for most children. Yogurt, fruit, fruit bars, chopped vegetables such as cucumber or cherry tomatoes, a few pieces of ham or cheese, or a couple of cocktail sausages can also be added for variety. We have a microwave so can heat up food if it is placed into a suitable container with the heating instructions attached.

Please provide them with cutlery if needed.
