SEND Teaching Assistants

 Fixed Term 

 

Post 1 - 5.75 hours per week / 38 weeks (Wednesday) to start Jan 22  EYFS pupil
Post 2 - 28.75 hours per week / 38 weeks  Monday to Friday 8.45 - 3.15 to start March 22  Year 2 Pupil

Post 3 - 16.25 hours per week / 38 weeks Monday to Friday 8.45 - 12.00 to start March 22 KS1
Post 4 - 17.5 hours per week / 38 weeks Monday to Friday  8.45 - 12.15 to March 22 KS2

 

£18,198 - £18,562 FTE (£9.43 - £9.62 per hour) Teaching Assistant

 

Southmead Primary School is looking for enthusiastic teaching assistants to support named pupils with SEND across the school. We are looking for a motivated team players with experience of working with children with a range of needs. A positive and encouraging attitude is essential, as is kindness, patience and an ability to use your initiative. You will need to have experience of working alongside staff to plan and deliver a differentiated curriculum and timetable based on the specific needs of one particular child or small group of children. We are looking for applicants who are dedicated to making a difference to children’s lives and to ensure every child has the opportunities they deserve.

 

This post is a fixed term contract based on the continued attendance and special educational needs of the named pupil.

You will be working alongside an experienced and supportive team and there will be ongoing opportunities for training.

 

We are looking for someone with the following essential qualities:

  • A Teaching and Learning Assistant Level 2 qualification or equivalent
  • Experience of working with children with additional needs
  • Experience of delivering 1:1 and/or small group interventions
  • A positive and encouraging attitude
  • Kindness and patience
  • A willingness to learn
  • An ability to work within a team
  • GCSE Grade C or above, or equivalent, in English and Maths

 

And the following desirable qualities:

  • working with children with ASC
  • Specialist Thrive training
  • Specialist training in a specific area of SEND
  • Specialist training in specific intervention programmes, e.g. Speech and Language
  • Working knowledge of the curriculum

 

This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English. This post is a fixed term contract based on the continued attendance and special educational needs of the named pupils.

Meal Time Assistant – Cover

We are looking for people who have an hour or so to spare between either 11.50am – 1.05pm or 12.15pm – 1.30pm on an ad hoc basis to cover lunchtimes on the KS1 and KS2 playgrounds. You would get paid for the hours you work and wouldn’t be committed to everyday – as and when you are needed and are available. You will need to have a current DBS check which we can arrange if you are interested.
