Our Class Timetables
What we're working on in class!
Note to parents: We would be so grateful if you could please start collecting some recycling ready for our onagers next week!
English: We are starting a new unit on persuasive letters! On our return to school, we found out that our chairs had revolted and we had to write to them to convince them to return to our desks. We have broken down an argument, looked at the difference between persuasion and making threats/bribes and thinking about counter-arguments in this unit of work. Our goal is to pretend to be Romans and to convince our friends in Rome to join the legion and help fight the ancient Britons!
Maths: We are working our way through geometry at the moment, thinking about 2D and 3D shapes with the types of lines, angles, vertices, faces, surfaces and edges!
Spelling: Our current focus is on the etymology of words!
Science: We're thinking all about plants - Roots and Shoots!
Geography: We are studying Megacities. We have done lots of comparing information about cities and places in the UK and considering the sizes and growth of populations.
History: We learnt about the Romans last half-term and thought about the impact they left on modern life. We are continuing to use our historical knowledge in other lessons such as in English, Art, Design and Technology and Reading!
RE: Year 3's focus for RE is on Christianity. We've looked at symbols of Christianity, ceremonies, the creation story, why Christians believe we should look after our world and much more!
French: We're learning all about food in French this term!
Computing: Our focus is all on programming for computing at present.
Design and Technology: We are thinking about Roman technology and looking at the onager this half-term.
Art: We have looked at pottery in the ancient world and sought to recreate some pottery similar to samian ware used by the Romans!
PSHE: We're learning about changes in our lives and bodies this half-term with RSHE.

SPELLING AT HOME
Spelling practise at home can often be challenging. Why not try using a multi-sensory approach! Try making the spellings using play dough, using coloured pens, using toys to make the shape of the letters or even during baking with flour! Rap, sing or link spellings to stories and shapes.
