  • Sports Day Success

    Wed 29 Jun 2022

We were all very excited to be able to celebrate Sports Day once again, after a long break. The morning saw the children take part in multi-skills activities ranging from skipping relays to javelin and even an obstacle course. Despite the inevitable downpour (thankfully short-lived) the children had a wonderful time competing and recording their combined scores, before heading back to school for lunch. In the afternoon we were back at the Athletics Track for running races. Perhaps the most emotional part of the day was watching the Year 6s take part in their last Sports Day at Southmead, tackling a full 400m lap of the track, cheering on those who needed support and even running with them to ensure that everybody made it to the finish line. The atmosphere was wonderful and we are very proud of everybody who took part. Particular thanks go to organisers Mr Priddis and Dr Corney, and to our brilliant commentator Mr Athey, who kept everybody motivated throughout the day. Overall winners on the day were Hawking house. Congratulations Hawking!

  • Fantastic Fundraisers.

    Fri 10 Jun 2022

Last weekend Radley, Coco and friends decided to hold an ice-cream, lemonade and cake sale to raise money for the Dog’s Trust. They spent hours preparing, making signs and painting their benches and sat out in between rain-showers to sell it all. They raised over £90 which they proudly took to the Dog’s Trust, and were rewarded with a tour and a goodie bag!

We have all been enjoying a very special non-uniform day today, to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. The children (and staff) loved finding some red, white and blue clothing to wear, and we held a street-party-style lunch outdoors, with bunting adorning the playground while everyone tucked into their fish and chips in a box, with red, white and blue cookies to follow!
