This half term, we have had assemblies about the benefits of planting trees, and have planted fruit trees and hedges all over the school site. As a result of this and the many other things that have gone on, we have been awarded the Silver Green Tree award! We are also well on track to achieve our Gold award, with Year 2 having already studied the old oak tree at the front of school and dressed it in their celebration bunting for their lovely Jubilee ‘tree party’.

Year 3 and 4 have been battling away in the Times Tables Rock Stars online competition this last couple of weeks. Having worked really hard they did incredibly well, with Year 3 finishing 2nd and Year 4 finishing 3rd within their competitions. A huge well done to both year groups and to all those who got involved. We hope to take part in many more such competitions in the future, as it has proved a really effective way to get the children engaged in learning and practising their times tables,

This week, we heard that Edward, in Year 2, won an art competition for his painting of the Queen who looks ‘very busy’, according to the judges. We hope you enjoy your prize, Edward – tickets to go and see Gangsta Granny at The Queen’s Theatre. Have fun!
